NRMWA Capability Statement

Natural Resource Management WA (NRMWA) is the peak body for NRM in Western Australia, representing the State’s largest and most experienced network of environmental delivery organisations. With over 25 years of proven landscape-scale delivery, NRMWA brings together regional NRM groups, Traditional Owners, landholders, industry, and government to deliver practical, science-based solutions for Western Australia’s unique environmental challenges.

Why NRM WA?

WA’s trusted NRM network: Deep local knowledge, proven delivery, and sector-wide reach.

Strategic solutions: Designed for compliance, transparency, and long-term success.

Partnership-first: Embedding Traditional Owner outcomes and stakeholder collaboration at every stage.

Future-focused: Ready to support WA’s transition to a sustainable, climate-resilient, and nature-positive future.

PARTNERS

NRMWA works closely with government, corporate, philanthropic, and community partners to manage and deliver landscape projects that deliver economic, social, and environmental benefits across Western Australia.

Projects are structured and managed to maximise the return to partners, Australia more broadly, and Western Australia in particular. Drawing on the substantial resources in local communities and within the NRM sector, NRMWA takes a commercial approach to delivering outcomes as efficiently and effectively as possible.

OUR CORE CAPABILITIES

Landscape-Scale Environmental Delivery
NRMWA delivers large-scale restoration and sustainable land management projects across WA, achieving measurable outcomes for biodiversity, water, soil, and climate resilience.

Strategic Policy and Program Leadership
We work closely with government, industry, and communities to align on-ground delivery with national and state environmental priorities, piloting innovative approaches in stewardship finance and digital transparency.

Traditional Owner Partnership & Co-Design
All projects are co-designed and delivered with Traditional Owners, embedding cultural knowledge, employment, and governance — integrating Indigenous fire and land management practices into mainstream NRM programs.

Long-Term Stewardship & Governance
Our work is guided by transparent governance, sound financial management, and outcomes-based Environmental Management Plans co-developed with independent experts and stakeholders.

Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV)
We apply robust MRV systems that combine remote sensing, field data, and public dashboards, supported by annual reporting and third-party verification for full accountability.

Partnerships & Collaboration
Through strong partnerships with government, industry, landholders, and leading NFPs, we coordinate multi-stakeholder initiatives that deliver shared value and impact across WA’s landscapes.
